Idaly Maldonado

I was born and raised in Ventura, California. Attended Ventura College and transferred to UCLA majoring in Chemistry. I have had a passion for learning chemistry since my last year of high school and was further interested once I was exposed to organic chemistry. Organic chemistry taught me that I truly want to pursue a career in the chemistry field. I aspire to become a cosmetic chemist where I can make innovative, environmentally-friendly, and zero-waste products, mainly in the skincare industry, that leave an impact on people’s skin concerns. By joining Dr. Gutierrez’s research lab I hope to gain a stronger foundation in organic chemistry and gain valuable lab experience in hopes of using it in the cosmetic science industry. Beyond my academics, I enjoy taking hikes, going to the beach, watching anime, and crocheting.
