Dr. Lupita S. Ramirez

Lupita S. Ramirez was born in Texas and raised in Mexico. She started her education in San Jacinto Community College and subsequently transferred to the University of Texas at Austin where she graduated with a BS in Biochemistry. She completed a MS in Chemistry at Texas State University with Prof. Christopher P. Rhodes and subsequently her Ph.D. with Prof. Andy A. Thomas as part of his first batch of students at Texas A&M University. There she focused in experimental chemistry particularly in the synthesis of a new class of phosphine ligands and the development of advanced in-situ NMR techniques. Lupita joined the Gutierrez group in September 2025 where she is mastering skills in computational chemistry in diverse projects. Outside of lab Lupita enjoys spending time with her husband, walking, and sharing meals with her family and friends.
