Yaning Liu (G2)

Yaning Liu was born and raised in Changchun, Jilin, China. Yan received her B.S. degree in Chemistry from Emory University in 2022. She then completed an M.S. degree in Organic Chemistry from University of Pennsylvania and graduated with the MCS Research Award in 2024. At Penn, she worked in the Kozlowski group, focusing on oxidative photocatalytic phenol coupling and base-assisted C-H activation. In Fall 2024, She joined the Gutierrez group where she explores the synergy between computation and experiment in transition metal catalysis.
